Thank you for supporting us on our journey through IVF. We feel so blessed to have so many in our corner cheering us on.

A little back story for anyone not familiar with the why.

Frank and I have always wanted a family, and had hoped to start not long after we were married. Years went by and we started to wonder why we weren't successful. Covid hit and put a pause on things. Once we both turned 30 we got serious again and I went through lots of scans, testing, and medications to find out I have PCOS, which I had assumed for years anyway. We managed that but then found there were other factors involved that are out of our control, and in Fall 2024 we were told IVF was our only option, as we had "very slim chances" of conceiving on our own.  There, we went through the very beginning steps of the process and were quoted $25,000 for the very basic IVF procedure, not including medication which could add up to another $5,000. We were heartbroken after finding this out. Unfortunately neither of our insurance plans offer any kind of coverage for IVF.

We got a second opinion in December 2024 and were told the same thing, however this clinic quoted us $6,700 including medication. The only downside is the clinic is in Colorado, and we would have to do some monitoring appointments near home that would not be covered by insurance. We figured the cost of the monitoring appointments mixed in with travel costs would still be significantly less, so we decided we wanted to give it a try.

Before we can get things rolling we have to put down at least $3,000 which we now have thanks to our amazing support systems. I have two more lab draws that need to be done, then we can sign the financial agreement! We're hoping to head to Colorado in the beginning of June, if things go as planned.

We plan to use this blog as a way to keep you in the loop of where we're at in the process. As of now we're keeping this private for a smaller group of family and friends, and aren't ready for it to be broadcasted on social media. If we decide otherwise we will let you know.
